The Fleishmans

Many years ago, my wife told the unusual story of a family named Fleishman. The Fleishmans lived in her neighborhood when she was a young girl. I thought it would be interesting to see how the rest of her family remembered the Fleishmans. So, I asked my Mother-In-Law, my Wife’s Brothers and Sisters, and my Wife to tell me what they remembered about the Fleishmans. I told no one the topic in advance, no one got to hear anyone else’s responses, and all were asked to keep the topic of the interview secret. Click here to see “The Fleishmans.”

i think i just peed a little. that might have been one of the funniest/scariest things i've ever seen. now where was James? You can't leave out the little one. i knew about the dunking incident but i certainly did not know the kid killed his mom. A lovely piece of storytelling-of-storytelling. This one might just be the best yet. ~sara

sara again. my mom told me about the you-know-what part and i think it would have been an absolute gem. especially good job working around shouting little girls and other familial interference. make sure you email a link to this to everybody.

I was surfing for something totally unrelated and found this clip. This is a well edited short piece that maximizes the drama by the consistency of the tale among the various interviewees. I'd hate to be sitting in the dark around a campfire listening to the group tell this story...
